Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Clean the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption and tenderness.

  2. 2

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Rub the mixture generously over both sides of the ribs. Let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

Making the BBQ Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 4

    Simmer the Sauce

Stir the mixture occasionally until it starts to bubble. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 5

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium heat, around 300°F (150°C).

  2. 6

    Grill the Ribs

Place the ribs on the grill, bone side down. Cover the grill and cook for about 2 to 2.5 hours, turning occasionally and basting with the BBQ sauce during the last 30 minutes.

  3. 7

    Check for Doneness

The ribs are done when they are tender and the meat has pulled back from the ends of the bones. You can also check the internal temperature, which should be around 190°F (88°C).

Serving

  1. 8

    Slice and Serve

Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for about 10 minutes. Slice between the bones and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
