Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Shrimp

In a large pot, bring water and salt to a boil. Add the jumbo shrimp to the boiling water and cook for about 3-5 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Do not overcook.

  2. 2

    Cool the Shrimp

Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the pot and place them in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them chill for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Drain and Prepare for Serving

Remove the shrimp from the ice water, drain well, and set aside on a plate covered with ice.

Cocktail Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix the Sauce

In a bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

  2. 5

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the cocktail sauce and adjust seasoning with additional salt or hot sauce as desired.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

On a serving platter, arrange the shrimp over a bed of ice. Serve the cocktail sauce in a small bowl alongside the shrimp.

  2. 7

    Garnish

Add lemon wedges around the shrimp for garnish and extra flavor.
