Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cook the Fettuccine
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- 2
Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water for later use.
Chicken Preparation
- 3
Prepare the Chicken
While the pasta is cooking, season the chicken breasts with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 4
Grill the Chicken
Heat a grill pan over medium heat. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Once done, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into strips.
Alfredo Sauce Preparation
- 5
- 6
Add Cream and Cheese
Pour in the heavy cream and stir continuously. Gradually add grated Parmesan cheese, nutmeg, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- 7
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained fettuccine to the sauce and toss well to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water to reach the desired consistency.
