Method

Preparing the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Bread the Shrimp

In three separate bowls, place the all-purpose flour in the first bowl, beaten eggs in the second, and breadcrumbs mixed with salt and pepper in the third. Dredge each shrimp in flour, dip into the eggs, and then coat with breadcrumbs.

  2. 2

    Fry the Shrimp

Heat the cooking oil in a large pan over medium heat. Once hot, fry the breaded shrimp in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Making the Tomato Sauce

  1. 3

    Sauté Garlic

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  2. 4

    Cook the Sauce

Add the crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, sugar, and black pepper to the saucepan. Simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in fresh basil before removing from heat.

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 5

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add salt once boiling.

  2. 6

    Cook Pasta

Add spaghetti or linguine to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Assembling the Dish

  1. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). In a baking dish, spread a layer of tomato sauce, followed by a layer of cooked pasta, then add a layer of fried shrimp. Top with shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan.

  2. 8

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  3. 9

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and then serve hot.
