Method
Preparing the Bread
- 1
Slice the Baguette
Cut the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices on a diagonal.
- 2
Brush with Olive Oil
Lay the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides with olive oil.
- 3
Toast the Bread
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and place the baking sheet in the oven. Toast the bread for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.
- 4
Rub with Garlic
Once toasted, remove the bread from the oven and immediately rub one side of each slice with the cut side of the garlic cloves to impart garlic flavor.
Preparing the Topping
- 5
Mix Cream Cheese
In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and lemon juice. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- 6
Assemble the Bruschetta
Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture onto the garlic-rubbed side of each toast.
- 7
Add Toppings
Top the cream cheese with slices of smoked salmon and sprinkle capers on top. If desired, garnish with fresh dill.
