Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into thick fries. Place them in a bowl of cold water to soak while you prepare the rest of the meal.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Beef

Season the beef steaks with salt, black pepper, minced garlic, and a drizzle of olive oil. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Fry the Potatoes

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Drain the potatoes and fry them until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, seasoning with salt to taste.

  4. 4

    Cook the Beef

In the same pan, add another 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Cook the marinated beef steaks for about 3–4 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Add bay leaves during cooking for flavor.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Vegetables

In a separate skillet, sauté sliced onion and red bell pepper in a bit of olive oil until soft and caramelized.

  6. 6

    Fry the Eggs

In a different pan, fry the eggs sunny-side up until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny.

  7. 7

    Assemble the Dish

On each plate, serve a beef steak topped with sautéed vegetables, a fried egg, and a side of crispy fries. Drizzle with piri-piri sauce to taste.
