- 1
Clean the Clams
Rinse the fresh clams under cold running water to remove any sand or debris. Scrub the shells gently with a brush if necessary.
- 2
Soak the Clams
Place the clams in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for about 30 minutes to help them expel any remaining sand.
- 3
Rinse Again
After soaking, rinse the clams again under cold water to ensure they are clean.
Cooking
- 4
Prepare the Cooking Mixture
In a small bowl, mix together the chopped parsley, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to taste.
- 5
Arrange the Clams
Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat. Place the clean clams on a grill-safe tray or a baking sheet, ensuring they are in a single layer.
- 6
Add the Mixture
Spoon the prepared mixture evenly over the open half of each clam.
- 7
Cook the Clams
Place the tray on the grill or in the oven and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the clams open up and are cooked through.
- 8
Serve
Remove the clams from the heat. Serve immediately while hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
