Fries Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into evenly sized fries, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak the Fries

Place the cut fries in a large bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and results in crispier fries.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.

  4. 4

    Dry the Fries

Drain the soaked fries and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  5. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add a batch of fries to the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Season the Fries

Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. While still hot, sprinkle with sea salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper to taste.

  7. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately while hot.
