Biscuit Ingredients
Method
Biscuit Directions
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This ensures your biscuits will bake evenly and rise nicely.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 0.5 teaspoon of salt. Whisk together until well combined.
- 3
Cut in Butter
Add 0.5 cups of cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes, into the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4
Add Wet Ingredients
Pour in 3 tablespoons of milk and 1 tablespoon of honey into the dry mixture. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the dough should be slightly sticky.
- 5
Shape the Biscuits
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently knead the dough 3-4 times to bring it together. Pat it into a rectangle about 1 inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out biscuits and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 6
Bake the Biscuits
Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.
- 7
Cool and Serve
Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet. Serve warm with butter, honey, or your favorite jam.
