Making the Dough

Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, until frothy.

Mix the Dough
In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.

Knead the Dough
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Preparing the Breadsticks

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.

Cut into Strips
Use a pizza cutter or knife to cut the dough into strips about 1 inch wide.

Add Garlic Powder and Herbs
Sprinkle garlic powder and dried Italian herbs evenly over the strips.

Top with Cheese and Pepperoni
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the strips and arrange pepperoni slices on top.

Bake the Breadsticks
Transfer the breadsticks to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
