Prepare the Pasta

Cook the Pasta
In a large pot of boiling salted water, add the ziti pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, grated parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix until well combined.
Assemble the Ziti

Layer the Ingredients
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large baking dish, spread a thin layer of the sauce on the bottom. Add half of the cooked ziti, followed by half of the cheese mixture, and half of the sauce. Repeat the layers, finishing with the remaining sauce.

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the assembled ziti.
