Dough Preparation

Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water (3 ml) and sugar (1 tsp). Sprinkle the active dry yeast (1 tbs) on top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour (2 cups) and salt (1 tsp). Mix well.

Combine Ingredients
Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the dry ingredients along with olive oil (2 tbs). Stir until a dough begins to form.

Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Let It Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
Breadstick Formation

Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it back to a floured surface. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions.

Form the Breadsticks
Roll each portion into a long stick, about 8 inches in length. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Bake the breadsticks in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Garlic Butter Topping

Prepare Garlic Butter
While the breadsticks are baking, melt the unsalted butter (4 tbs) in a small saucepan over low heat. Add minced garlic (from 2 cloves) and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, but do not brown.

Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley (1 tbs), grated Parmesan cheese (1 tbs), and salt (to taste).
