Taco Filling

Method

Prepare the Beef Filling

  1. 1

    Brown the Beef

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  2. 2

    Sauté Onions and Garlic

Add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Then add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

  3. 3

    Season the Beef

Stir in cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to coat the beef and onions evenly.

  4. 4

    Add Beef Broth

Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for about 15-20 minutes until thickened.

Assemble the Tacos

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to warm the taco shells.

  2. 6

    Warm Taco Shells

Place corn taco shells on a baking sheet and warm in the oven for about 5 minutes.

  3. 7

    Fill Taco Shells

Remove taco shells from the oven. Fill each shell generously with the braised beef mixture.

  4. 8

    Add Cheeses

Sprinkle equal amounts of jack and cheddar cheese over the beef in each taco.

  5. 9

    Top with Fresh Ingredients

Top each taco with pico de gallo, a dollop of sour cream, and a sprinkle of chopped cilantro.
