Churro Dough

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water Mixture

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the water, unsalted butter, and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil.

  2. 2

    Add Dry Ingredients

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the all-purpose flour and salt until the mixture forms a ball of dough.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Allow the dough to cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix Sugar and Cinnamon

In a shallow bowl, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar with 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon. Set aside.

Frying the Churros

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a large, deep saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe Churros

Transfer the churro dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Carefully pipe strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them to your desired length.

  3. 7

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil.

  4. 8

    Coat with Sugar

Immediately roll the hot churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until they are fully coated.
