Preparation
- 1
Clean the Calamari
Rinse the fresh calamari under cold water and remove the ink sac, cartilage, and skin if necessary. Cut the calamari into rings about 1/2 inch thick.

Breading and Frying
- 3
Bread the Calamari
First, coat each calamari ring in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess. Then, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat the ring in breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large frying pan or deep fryer, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Calamari
Carefully add the breaded calamari rings to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Serving

Serve
Arrange the fried calamari on a platter and serve hot with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
