Tuna Stack

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna

Dice the yellowfin tuna into small cubes, about 1/2 inch in size. Place the diced tuna in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Avocado

Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh. Dice the avocado into small cubes and add to the bowl with the tuna.

  3. 3

    Make the Pasilla-Ponzu Salsa

Roast the pasilla peppers over an open flame until charred. Remove the skins, seeds, and stems. Finely chop the roasted pasilla peppers and add them to the bowl.

  4. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Add soy sauce, lime juice, chopped cilantro, and salt to the tuna and avocado mixture. Gently toss everything together to combine.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Jalapeño

Thinly slice the jalapeño pepper. Set aside for garnish.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Dish

Spoon the tuna and avocado mixture into serving dishes and top with sliced jalapeños and additional cilantro if desired.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the tuna stack with plantain chips on the side for dipping.
