Method
Prepare the Taco Fillings

Cook the Ground Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent, about 5-7 minutes.

Add Seasoning
Stir in the taco seasoning and salt. Mix well to coat the beef evenly. Add the rinsed black beans and cook for another 3-5 minutes until heated through.

Add Fresh Herbs
Remove from heat and stir in the chopped cilantro. Set the filling aside.
Prepare the Tortillas

Warm the Tortillas
If using corn or flour tortillas, warm them in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until soft and pliable.

Prepare Tostadas
If using crispy tostadas, they are ready as is. Set them aside for assembly.
Assemble the Tacos

Fill the Tortillas
Take a warm tortilla or tostada and place a generous amount of the beef and bean filling in the center.

Add Toppings
Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomato, shredded cheese, sour cream, and hot sauce to your liking.
