Tortilla Chips

Method

Prepare Tortilla Chips

  1. 1

    Fry the Tortilla Chips

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Cut the corn tortillas into quarters. Once the oil is hot, carefully add a batch of tortilla pieces to the oil. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt while still hot. Repeat with the remaining tortillas.

Assemble Nachos

  1. 2

    Layer the Nachos

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). On a large baking sheet or oven-safe platter, spread a layer of the fried tortilla chips. Spoon the refried beans evenly over the chips, followed by a generous layer of shredded cheese. Add the cooked meat of your choice on top of the cheese.

  2. 3

    Melt the Cheese

Place the assembled nachos in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  3. 4

    Add Toppings

Remove the nachos from the oven and top with pico de gallo, guacamole, crema, sliced jalapeños, and any additional toppings you desire.
