Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Melt the Butter

Bring the mixture to a boil.

  2. 2

    Combine Flour and Salt

Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the flour and salt until a smooth dough forms.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs

Allow the dough to cool for 5 minutes before adding the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated.

Frying Churros

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Pipe Dough

Using a piping bag fitted with a large star tip, pipe 4 to 6-inch strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting with scissors.

  3. 6

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown.

  4. 7

    Drain Excess Oil

Remove churros from the oil and let them drain on paper towels.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  1. 8

    Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.

  2. 9

    Coat Churros

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 10

    Prepare Chocolate Sauce

For the chocolate sauce, heat heavy cream in a saucepan until just simmering, then pour over dark chocolate chips in a bowl. Let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth.

  2. 11

    Prepare Dulce de Leche

For the dulce de leche, simply pour the sweetened condensed milk into a saucepan and heat it over low heat, stirring constantly until it thickens.
