Ingredients for Siam Honey Duck

Method

Cooking Instructions for Siam Honey Duck

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, lime juice, chili flakes, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well combined.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Duck

Place the duck breasts in a resealable bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the duck, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  4. 4

    Sear the Duck

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the duck from the marinade (reserve the marinade for later) and place the duck breasts skin-side down in the skillet. Sear for about 5 minutes until the skin is crispy, then flip and sear the other side for an additional 3 minutes.

  5. 5

    Bake the Duck

Transfer the seared duck breasts to a baking dish, skin-side up. Brush the reserved marinade over the duck. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  6. 6

    Rest and Serve

Once cooked, remove the duck from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve garnished with fresh cilantro.
