Pie Preparation
Prepare the Filling
Peel, core, and slice the apples. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Mix well and let sit for about 15 minutes.
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Prepare the Pie Crust
Roll out your pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan. Fill the crust with the apple mixture, making sure to distribute it evenly.
Cover and Bake
Roll out another pie crust and place it over the filled pie. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape. Crimp the edges to seal. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.
Cool and Serve
Let the pie cool for at least 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm with whipped cream on top.
