Maki Rolls Directions
- 1
Prepare the Sushi Rice
Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to the package instructions. Once cooked, let it cool slightly.
- 2
Season the Rice
In a small bowl, mix the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Fold this mixture into the warm rice gently, and let it cool to room temperature.

- 4
Assemble the Maki
Place a bamboo sushi mat on a flat surface. Lay one sheet of nori, shiny side down, on the mat. Wet your hands to prevent sticking, then spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a small border at the top.

- 6
Roll the Sushi
Using the bamboo mat, carefully roll the nori away from you, pressing gently to form a tight roll. Seal the edge of the nori with a little water.
- 7
Slice and Serve
Using a sharp knife, slice the roll into 6-8 pieces. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.
