Bacon Mayo

Sautéed Onion

Lettuce

Method

Prepare Tater Tots

  1. 1

    Bake Tater Tots

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the frozen tater tots on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.

Cook Bacon

  1. 2

    Fry Bacon

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the bacon slices. Cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat.

Make Bacon Mayo

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and chopped cooked bacon until well combined. Set aside.

Prepare Bacon Jam

  1. 4

    Cook Bacon and Onion

In the same skillet used for bacon, add the chopped bacon and finely chopped onion. Cook over medium heat until the bacon is crispy and the onion is softened, about 8-10 minutes.

  2. 5

    Add Sugar and Vinegar

Stir in the brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and black pepper. Cook on low heat until the mixture thickens and becomes jam-like, about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Sauté Onion

  1. 6

    Sauté Onion in Olive Oil

In a separate skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and sauté until translucent and slightly caramelized, about 10 minutes.

Assemble the Dish

  1. 7

    Layer Ingredients

On a large serving platter or individual plates, layer the baked tater tots. Top with sautéed onions, shredded smoked cheddar cheese, lettuce leaves, bacon mayo, and finally, bacon jam.
