Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Finely chop the onion, garlic, jalapeño peppers, and serrano peppers. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Spicy Sauce

In a small bowl, mix the chipotle peppers in adobo sauce with the diced tomatoes with green chilies. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Meat

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent (about 3-5 minutes).

  2. 4

    Add the Beef

Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat.

  3. 5

    Add the Peppers and Spices

Stir in the chopped jalapeños, serranos, cumin, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the spices to become aromatic.

  4. 6

    Combine the Sauce

Pour in the spicy sauce mixture and beef broth. Bring to a simmer and reduce heat to low. Cover and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Moo Caliente

Serve the spicy beef mixture hot, topped with sour cream, chopped cilantro, and shredded cheese.
