For the Sausage Filling

For the Pastry

Method

Prepare the Sausage Filling

  1. 1

    Cook the Onion and Garlic

In a frying pan over medium heat, sauté the finely chopped onion and minced garlic until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Combine the Filling Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked onion and garlic, pork sausage meat, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Assemble the Mini Sausage Rolls

  1. 3

    Roll Out the Pastry

On a lightly floured surface, roll out each puff pastry sheet into a rectangle, about 0.5 cm thick.

  2. 4

    Cut the Pastry

Cut each pastry sheet into long strips, about 10 cm wide.

  3. 5

    Fill the Pastry

Place a line of sausage filling along the center of each strip of pastry. Be sure to leave a little space at the ends to seal the rolls.

  4. 6

    Roll and Seal

Roll the pastry over the filling to form a log, then press the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative finish.

Bake the Sausage Rolls

  1. 7

    Prepare for Baking

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 8

    Brush with Egg Wash

Place the assembled sausage rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

  3. 9

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
