Method

Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each into a patty. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.

Vegetable Medley

  1. 4

    Prepare the Vegetables

Chop the carrots, zucchini, and bell peppers into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 5

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the vegetables, salt, and black pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender.

Pommes Duchesse

  1. 6

    Cook the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 7

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, heavy cream, salt, and nutmeg. Mash until smooth.

  3. 8

    Prepare for Baking

Stir in the egg yolks until fully combined. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag.

  4. 9

    Pipe the Potatoes

On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, pipe small mounds of the potato mixture.

  5. 10

    Bake the Pommes Duchesse

Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Brown Sauce

  1. 11

    Make the Roux

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 2 minutes until lightly golden.

  2. 12

    Add the Broth

Gradually whisk in the beef broth, ensuring no lumps remain. Bring to a simmer.

  3. 13

    Season the Sauce

Add salt and black pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes until thickened.

Gruyere

  1. 14

    Add Gruyere to the Burger

During the last minute of cooking the patties, top each patty with grated Gruyere cheese. Cover to allow the cheese to melt.
