Method

Prepare Filling

  1. 1

    Mix the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, finely chopped green onions, garlic powder, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Assemble Wontons

  1. 2

    Fill and Fold

Take a wonton wrapper and place a teaspoon of the filling in the center. Wet the edges of the wrapper with a little water. Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to create a triangle, pressing the edges to seal. You can also bring the two outer corners together to form a flower shape if desired.

  2. 3

    Repeat

Continue filling and folding the remaining wonton wrappers until all the filling is used.

Fry Wontons

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pan or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of wonton wrapper in; it should sizzle immediately.

  2. 5

    Fry the Wontons

Carefully add a few wontons to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for about 3-4 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally.

  3. 6

    Drain and Serve

Once fried, remove the wontons using a slotted spoon and drain them on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
