Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Patties

In a large bowl, combine ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Form into two thick patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Burgers

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

  3. 3

Make the Zesty Green Chile Queso

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for about 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Add green chiles and stir until the mixture thickens. Add more milk if necessary for desired consistency.

  4. 4

    Toast the Texas Toast

While the queso is thickening, toast the Texas toast in a toaster or on the grill until golden brown.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Double Bueno

Place each burger patty on a piece of Texas toast. Generously drizzle the zesty green chile queso over the top of the burgers. Add any optional toppings as desired.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve immediately and enjoy your Double Bueno!
