Penne Chicken Alfredo Recipe

Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Grill the Chicken
Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Grill over medium heat for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked. Slice into strips and set aside.

Prepare the Alfredo Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer.

Combine Ingredients
Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Add salt and black pepper to taste. If using, add sliced mushrooms or chopped green chile at this point and let simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Mix Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked penne pasta to the Alfredo sauce. Toss until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.

Serve
Plate the pasta and top with sliced grilled chicken. Garnish with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
