Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier.

  3. 3

    Dry the Potatoes

After soaking, drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the dried potato strips to the hot oil in batches. Fry them for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Drain the Fries

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fries from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

  7. 7

    Season and Serve

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle them with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
