Chicken Strips
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Cut the chicken breast into strips and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- 2
- 3
Breading the Chicken
Dip each chicken strip first into the flour, then into the egg mixture, and back into the flour to create a double coating.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Chicken Strips
Carefully add the breaded chicken strips to the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate.
- 6
Make the Cream Gravy
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the remaining flour (about 2 tablespoons) to create a roux, then gradually add the heavy cream, whisking until smooth. Cook until thickened.
- 7
Serve
Serve the crispy chicken strips with the cream gravy on the side for dipping.
