Fried Pickles
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Pickles
Drain the dill pickle slices and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- 2
Create the Breading Station
In one bowl, mix together the flour, cornmeal, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. In another bowl, pour in the buttermilk.
- 3
Coat the Pickles
Dip each pickle slice first into the buttermilk, then dredge it in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating. Shake off any excess.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot (about 350°F or 175°C).
- 5
Fry the Pickles
Carefully add the coated pickle slices to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy (about 2-3 minutes per side).
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried pickles with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with the secret Comeback Sauce.
