Cooking Pasta

    Boil the Water

    In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt.

    Cook the Penne

    Add 2 cups of penne pasta to the boiling water. Cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Making Marinara Sauce

    Sauté Garlic

    In a saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.

    Add Tomatoes

    Stir in 28 oz of canned crushed tomatoes, 1 tsp of dried oregano, 1 tsp of salt, and 1 tsp of black pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.

    Finish with Basil

    Stir in 1 cup of chopped fresh basil and remove from heat.

Making Alfredo Sauce

    Melt Butter

    In a separate saucepan, melt 1 cup of butter over low heat.

    Add Cream and Garlic

    Stir in 1 cup of heavy cream and 2 minced garlic cloves. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

    Add Cheese

    Gradually whisk in 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until smooth. Season with 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of black pepper.

Combining the Dish

    Mix with Sauces

    Serve the cooked penne pasta with both marinara and alfredo sauce on top or on the side. Enjoy!
