1. Prepare the Roasted Peppers

If using whole red bell peppers, roast them over an open flame or in the oven until the skin is charred and blistered. Place them in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap for about 10 minutes to steam. Once cooled, peel off the skins, remove the seeds, and slice into strips.

2. Slice the Mozzarella

Cut the fresh mozzarella cheese into thick slices.

3. Assemble the Dish

On a serving platter, layer the sliced mozzarella and roasted red pepper strips. Tuck fresh basil leaves between the layers.

4. Dress the Salad

Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar over the mozzarella and peppers. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
