Pizza Dough and Toppings

Method

Preparation and Baking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Add olive oil, salt, and flour gradually, mixing until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) while the dough is rising.

  4. 4

    Shape the Pizza

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll out each portion on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

  5. 5

    Add Toppings

Spread tomato sauce evenly over each pizza base. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced Calabrian chili peppers, and grated Parmesan cheese on top. Add fresh basil leaves.

  6. 6

    Bake the Pizza

Transfer the pizzas to a baking sheet or pizza stone and bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.

  7. 7

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute, slice, and serve hot.
