Method
Preparation
- 1
Make the Pasta
In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and crack the eggs into the well. Gradually mix the flour into the eggs with a fork until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth. Wrap in plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- 2
Roll Out the Dough
After resting, divide the dough into four pieces. Roll each piece out into thin sheets using a pasta machine or a rolling pin. Cut the sheets into fettuccine strips and dust with flour to prevent sticking.
- 3
Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook for 3-4 minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 4
Prepare the Alfredo Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and black pepper until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
- 5
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked fettuccine to the Alfredo sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce. Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
