Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Make the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped onion, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Shape the Meatballs
Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet.
- 3
Brown the Meatballs
In a large skillet over medium heat, add a little oil and brown the meatballs on all sides. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
- 4
Prepare the Marinara Sauce
In a slow cooker, pour in your favorite marinara sauce or homemade marinara sauce.
- 5
Combine and Cook
Transfer the browned meatballs to the slow cooker with the marinara sauce. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- 6
Serve
Once cooked, serve the albondigas hot over rice or with crusty bread.
