Base Ingredients

Mascarpone Mixture

Method

Prepare Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew Coffee

Brew 1 cup of strong coffee and let it cool. If desired, add 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur to the cooled coffee for added flavor.

Make Mascarpone Mixture

  1. 2

    Combine Egg Yolks and Sugar

In a medium bowl, whisk together 4 egg yolks and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

  2. 3

    Add Mascarpone

Fold in 16 oz of mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture until smooth and combined.

  3. 4

    Whip Heavy Cream

In another bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

  4. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix until incorporated.

Assemble Tiramisu

  1. 6

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip 24 pieces of ladyfinger cookies into the cooled coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 7

    Layer Ingredients

In a 9x9 inch dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Chill and Serve

  1. 8

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible.

  2. 9

    Serve

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings if desired.
