Fries Preparation

Preheat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 180°C (350°F).

Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the frozen French fries to the hot oil in batches, and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

Drain and Season
Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Immediately sprinkle with salt to taste.

Cook the Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.

Combine Ingredients
Add the canned diced tomatoes, kidney beans (drained and rinsed), chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Simmer the Chili
Reduce the heat to low and let the chili simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Layer Fries and Chili
On a serving platter, place a generous layer of crispy fries. Spoon the chili mixture over the fries evenly.

Add Cheese
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the hot chili to allow it to melt.

Garnish
Top with a dollop of sour cream and sprinkle with sliced green onions for garnish.
