Burger Patty

Method

Burger Patty Preparation

1

Prepare the Black Beans

Drain and rinse the canned black beans. In a bowl, mash them with a fork until mostly smooth, leaving some chunks for texture.

2

Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed black beans, cooked quinoa, rolled oats, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

3

Form the Patties

Using your hands, form the mixture into 2 equal-sized patties. If the mixture is too wet, add more oats until the desired consistency is reached.

4

Cook the Patties

Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and heated through.

Assembly

5

Prepare the Buns

Toast the whole grain burger buns lightly on both sides in the same skillet or in a toaster.

6

Assemble the Burger

Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with a veggie patty, followed by a slice of tomato. Finally, place the top half of the bun over the tomato.
