Preparation of Toppings

Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

Mince the Garlic
Peel and mince the garlic cloves, then add them to the bowl with the tomatoes.

Add Basil and Season
Tear the fresh basil leaves into smaller pieces and add them to the bowl. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix well and set aside.

Slice the Baguette
Cut the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices.

Toast the Bread
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet, brush them with olive oil on both sides, and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.

Top the Bread
Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously on top of each slice.

Serve the bruschetta immediately as an appetizer or snack, garnished with additional basil if desired.
