Pasta and Sauce
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cook the Pasta
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Sauce
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
- 3
Cook the Pork
Add the ground pork shoulder to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
- 4
Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Pour in the crushed tomatoes and add chili flakes, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine and simmer for 15-20 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
- 5
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet with the Bolognese sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
- 6
Serve
Serve the penne Bolognese hot, topped with freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano and chopped basil.
