Arepa Preparation

Prepare the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the pre-cooked cornmeal, warm water, and salt. Stir until a dough forms. Let it rest for about 5 minutes.

Shape the Arepas
Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and flatten it into a disc about 1/2 inch thick.

Cook the Arepas
Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the arepas for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Stuff the Arepas
Once cooked, carefully slice the arepas open and stuff them with cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo, and your choice of filling.

Serve immediately while warm, and enjoy your delicious arepas!
