Method

Prepare Taco Filling

  1. 1

    Cook Ground Beef

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Taco Seasoning

Once the beef is browned, drain excess fat if necessary. Add taco seasoning and water to the skillet. Stir well to combine.

  3. 3

    Simmer

Bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.

Prepare Taco Toppings

  1. 4

    Chop Vegetables

While the beef is simmering, wash and chop the lettuce and tomatoes. Set aside.

  2. 5

    Prepare Cheese and Sour Cream

Grate the cheese if not pre-shredded. Place cheese, sour cream, and sliced jalapeños in small serving bowls.

Assemble Tacos

  1. 6

    Warm Tortillas

If desired, warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side.

  2. 7

    Fill Tacos

Take a tortilla and spoon in a generous amount of the beef mixture. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, and jalapeños to taste.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately while hot, allowing guests to customize their tacos with additional toppings if desired.
