Method

Marinating the Meat

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine olive oil, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Chicken

Add the chicken breast to the marinade, ensuring it's well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Cooking the Vegetables

  1. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

Slice the bell peppers and onion into thin strips.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced bell peppers and onion. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender and slightly charred. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cooking the Meat

  1. 5

    Grill the Chicken

In the same skillet or on a grill, add the marinated chicken breast. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and no longer pink inside. Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Assembling the Fajitas

  1. 6

    Slice the Chicken

After resting, slice the grilled chicken into thin strips.

  2. 7

    Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet, warm the flour tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side.

  3. 8

    Assemble the Fajitas

On each tortilla, layer the sliced chicken, sautéed bell peppers and onions, and top with sour cream, guacamole, shredded cheese, and salsa as desired.
