Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the cookies.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
- 3
Cream Butter and Sugars
In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the softened butter with the granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- 4
Add Wet Ingredients
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, add the vanilla extract and continue to mix until incorporated.
- 5
Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- 6
Add Mix-ins
Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts using a spatula until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Baking
- 7
Scoop the Dough
Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
- 8
Bake the Cookies
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
- 9
Cool the Cookies
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
