Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the hickory-smoked and honey-cured bacon slices until crispy. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Flip the bacon occasionally to ensure even cooking. Once cooked, transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the bacon is cooking, wash the lettuce thoroughly and pat it dry. Tear the lettuce leaves into smaller pieces. Slice the large tomato into even slices, about 1/4 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Make the Mayo Spread

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise with a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well to ensure even seasoning.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Toast the Bread (Optional)

If desired, toast the slices of bread in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.

  2. 5

    Layer the Ingredients

On one slice of bread, spread a generous amount of the mayo mixture. Layer with lettuce, followed by slices of tomato, and then top with the crispy bacon. Finish with another slice of bread.

  3. 6

    Serve

Cut the sandwich in half diagonally and serve immediately while the bacon is still warm and crispy.
