Preparation of Beef
- 1
Season the Beef
Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Take the American Wagyu roast beef and pat it dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on all sides.
- 2
Roast the Beef
Place the seasoned beef on a wire rack in a roasting pan. Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the roast. Roast in the preheated oven until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare, which will take about 2 to 3 hours.
- 3
Rest the Beef
Once the desired temperature is reached, remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute within the meat.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 4
Prepare the Vegetables
While the beef is resting, wash and prepare the vegetables. Tear the lettuce into bite-sized pieces, slice the tomato into thick rounds, and thinly slice the onion.
- 5
Slice the Beef
After resting, slice the roast beef thinly against the grain to ensure tenderness.
- 6
Build the Sandwich
On a serving platter or cutting board, layer slices of roast beef, followed by provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion. Spread mayonnaise on your choice of bread or roll, then place the assembled ingredients on top.
