Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Start by thinly slicing the American Wagyu beef against the grain into strips. Slice the mushrooms and onion. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and mushrooms, season with salt and black pepper, and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are softened and slightly caramelized. Remove from skillet and keep warm.

  2. 3

    Cook the Wagyu Beef

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Increase heat to medium-high, add the sliced Wagyu beef, and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 3-5 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked to your desired doneness.

  3. 4

    Combine and Melt Cheese

Lower the heat to medium and return the sautéed mushrooms and onions to the skillet with the Wagyu beef. Place the slices of white American cheese on top of the mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and gooey.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Cheesesteaks

Cut the hoagie rolls in half and lightly toast them if desired. Spoon the Wagyu beef and vegetable mixture generously into each roll. Serve immediately with your favorite condiments.
