Dough

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

Method

Prepare the Dough

  1. 1

    Boil the Mixture

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of butter, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once the mixture is boiling, remove it from heat and immediately add 1 cup of all-purpose flour. Stir quickly with a wooden spoon until the dough forms a ball.

  3. 3

    Cool and Add Eggs

Allow the dough to cool for about 5 minutes. Then, add 2 large eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the dough, mixing well until smooth and fully incorporated.

Fry the Churros

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat 4 cups of vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Pipe the Dough

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe 4-6 inch strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them with scissors.

  3. 6

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros in batches, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Remove them from the oil and let them drain on paper towels.

Coat in Cinnamon Sugar

  1. 7

    Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow bowl, mix together 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon.

  2. 8

    Roll the Churros

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture, ensuring they are well coated.

Serve

  1. 9

    Enjoy!

Serve the churros warm with a side of chocolate sauce or dulce de leche for dipping.
